Tamara L. Tucker brings decades of legal experience and a strategic approach to every case she handles.
Attorney Profile
Ms. Tucker grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia and attended Mary Washington College. Following college graduation, she went on to law school at the University of South Carolina, graduating in 1994 as a member of the academic honor society, Order of Wig and Robe, and the Moot Court Bar. She has a Martindale AV Preeminent Judicial Edition Rating, the highest peer review rating by both lawyers and judges.
Ms. Tucker focuses her practice on appellate law, insurance defense, and equestrian sports law. Ms. Tucker has authored numerous appellate briefs on topics ranging from personal jurisdiction to the doctrine of res ipsa loquitur. She regularly defends insureds in civil cases, has represented plaintiffs and defendants in hundreds of cases involving contract disputes and business torts, including fraud, tortious interference, and business conspiracy. Because of her lifelong involvement with show horses, Ms. Tucker is also well known for her niche practice in the equestrian world representing trainers and owners of performance horses from across the country in litigation and administrative disciplinary matters, as well as contract preparation.
Ms. Tucker has extensive litigation experience and has represented clients in: the Supreme Court of the United States; the Supreme Court of Virginia; United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit; United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia; Virginia state courts throughout the Commonwealth; in administrative matters before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, the Virginia Employment Commission, the United States Equestrian Federation, and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee; and in arbitration matters before AAA, JAMS, and other tribunals.
Drawing on several decades of experience, Ms. Tucker represents her clients with precision, deliberate thought, and a strategy designed to reach their objectives effectively and efficiently.
